Veteran Nigerian Filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, popularly known as TK has launched the Mainframe Film and Media Institute (MFMI) on his 68th birthday.
The birthday and launch of Mainframe Film and Media Institute held at the Rooftop of Goethe-Institut Nigeria, Lagos City Hall in the evening of Friday, 26th February, 2016.
Nigeria’s pride and indeed, Africa’s pride, Professor Wole Soyinka was the guest of honour who unveiled the logo of the film school “in recognition of a great friend, a great artist, and a great mentor”.
The event, which was tagged, ‘TK @ 68 …of Culture and Purpose’ featured performances by Edaoto, Footprints of David, Ajankoro, and Crown Troupe of Africa.
Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun sent his solidarity message, which was read at the event. Prof. Akin Adesokan and Dr. Tunde Adegbola’s birthday messages were also read to the celebrant. Mo Abudu of Ebony Live TV also sent her birthday wishes.
Hosted by Jahman Anikulapo, Ropo Ewenla and Femi Odugbemi, the event had in attendance TK’s family and many dignitaries and personalities. Among them were Toun Kelani, Folake Doherty-Soyinka, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Lagbaja, Marc-Andre Schmachtel, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Pierre Cherruau, Segun Odegbami (MON), Andy Amadi Okoroafor, Yeni Kuti, Theo Lawson, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Kunle Afolayan, Jide Bello, Kunle Ajibade, Steve Sodiya, Prof. Remi Raji, Dr. Sola Olorunyomi, Femi Sowoolu, Khabirat Kafidipe, Kola Ogunsolu, Jide Moronfolu, Taiwo Obe, Dr. Yinka Egbokhare, Hakeem Adenekan, Steven Adesemoye, Mr and Mrs Segun Adaju, Mr and Mrs Kola Tubosun, Segun Adefila, Quddus Onikeku, Dayo Liadi (Ijodee), Toyin Akinoso, Sarafa Abagun, Tunji Afolayan, Ayo Badmus, Abolore Sobayo, Damola Taiwo and Dolapo Taiwo.
