Tunde Kelani’s multi-award winning 2014 feature, Dazzling Mirage is set to premiere at 2015 Film Africa on Saturday, 7th November, 2015. That is going to be the first time the powerful edutainment drama will screen in the United Kingdom.
Dazzling Mirage, the movie, is an inspiring story of love, perseverance and hope in the face of adversity. It is about Funmiwo, a young and talented advertising executive living with sickle cell disorder. She would not allow the disorder to define her as she strives to achieve career success, marriage and motherhood. An adaptation of Yinka Egbokhare’s novel of the same title, Dazzling Mirage is adapted by Ade Solanke.
The movie features Kemi Lala Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan, Seun Akindele, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Bayo Bankole, Khabirat Kafidipe, Bukola Awoyemi, Ayo Badmus, Princess Adetuwo, among other talented actors.
As part of the feature films for 2015 Film Africa, Dazzling Mirage screens at Ritzy Brixton at 18:30. Tunde Kelani will be there for a Question and Answer (Q&A) session with Iyamide Thomas, Ade Solanke and the sickle cell community in London.
Film Africa is the Royal African Society’s annual festival celebrating the best African cinema from across the continent. Launched in 2011, it is UK’s largest festival of African film and culture.
